The CBD Brothers Purple Edition full-spectrum extract is a high-quality paste, ideal for adding to your own oil or smearing under your tongue. In each tube, you get 1 ml of a thick, aromatic whole-plant extract containing 160 mg of CBD and CBDa. 3 syringes provide a total of 480 mg of CBD and CBDa.

CBDa is a cannabidiolic acid; it's the precursor to CBD, and both can be found in the hemp flower. Together, they work in synergy, interacting with your body's endocannabinoid system.

Indica-dominant hybrid CBD paste

Made by The CBD Brothers from the buds and flowers of organically-grown hybrid hemp, the Purple Edition exhibits the characteristics of both Indica and Sativa plants. Different types of hemp have different combinations of cannabinoids and terpenes. This particular hybrid is Indica-dominant: approximately 70% Indica/30% Sativa. 

CO2-extracted, whole-plant, full-spectrum CBD paste provides a range of cannabinoids alongside CBD and CBDa. Whole-plant extracts contain all the cannabinoids present in the plant alongside other useful substances, including terpenes, nutrients and fatty acids.

CBD Brothers - aka The Original Alternative

Known as the oldest producer of cannabis extracts in the UK, the CBD Brothers (aka The Original Alternative), started life in a small one-car garage. Initially, they aimed to produce small amounts of oil and lotion for their family and neighbours. As their products became popular, they found that they needed more space. Now they are located in a purpose-built, off-grid facility in Suffolk.

Their hemp is grown organically on small farms in Guernsey with no pesticides or artificial fertilisers. Plants grown to produce the Silver, White, Red and Black Editions are grown under lights, and those that go into the Green, Blue and Purple Editions are grown outside in the sunlight until they are ready to be handpicked and dried. The Gold Edition is grown in their Guernsey greenhouse.

To ensure they produce only the highest-quality products, CBD Brothers uses CO2 extraction under low-heat, low-pressure conditions. The resulting extracts contain a rich mix of cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, and essential fatty acids.

They are the first to admit that the nature of natural extracts means there may be slight differences from batch to batch, but with third-party lab testing, they maintain impressive standards. The analysis is administered by two independent companies that use state-of-the-art high-pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC) machines to detect the contents of each sample.

As of 2023, CBD Brothers has an active Novel Foods application with the Food Standards Agency. This ensures that their supplements can remain on sale legally in the UK.

Suggested use

1. Start by squeezing a small amount (one small mark on the syringe) of CBD paste onto your finger.
2. Using your finger, smear the paste under your tongue.
3. Hold for 1-2 minutes so the CBD can be absorbed into your blood
4. Swallow any remaining paste and wash down with a drink of your choice.

The syringe has a mark to show the full 1ml and 10 smaller marks of 0.1ml.

1 ml = 160mg of CBD/CBDa
0.1 ml contains approx. 16mg of CBD/CBDa.

• We recommend taking the paste twice per day, before breakfast and dinner.

Who is CBD Brothers CBD paste suitable for?

Because of the higher CBD concentration, this supplement is not suitable for beginners and those who are sensitive to food supplements. If you are new to CBD, we would recommend starting with a CBD oil in drops or spray form. This is because you can start with a much smaller serving and experiment to find the precise amount to suit your needs.

We are all different, so there’s no standard amount of CBD one should take. Start with the lowest recommended serving (or lower if you prefer) and increase gradually, until you find the ideal amount to suit your needs.
